Its Been a Year!!!! Since our U.K. Adventure!!!

It has almost been a year now since the Cast of Slave Ship has gone overseas to England. I feel blessed to have had that experience with such an awesome group of people. Our cast became a family we really put our all into the show and to see where it has taken us is incredible. Shout out to Shannon Hansen who decided to direct us in the piece, she took a big risk with the show. Thank you to Jay Pecora, Kim Bouchard, the department and students who fought hard for us to go there. This is a re-post of the Entries I posted almost a year ago. Sharing the awesome experience our cast had in mid November. 11/25/08 I'm in Liverpool England having an awesome time. I cannot wait to perform in "Slave Ship" here tomorrow night. I have to hurry up and get this done with because I am in a hostel using the computer and I am being charged. Any way I am having so much fun here. Everything is different here, including the sodas, candies, food chains, the streets are backwards and faster too! Wish us Luck in the play Tomorrow!

"The McGuffin" & "The Wrestling Season

The touring ensemble is currently working on both shows... For "The McGuffin" we are currently in the devising process. We are trying our best to devise a comedia play with Lazzi that will be friendly for young children. Our stunts for the show are still being learned. The show will be full of free-falls, flips, trips and many more... "The Wrestling Season" is a whole different animal where it is already written. We are supposed to be off book this weekend because we are having a preview/reading on monday. Our wrestling choreography still needs to be worked out. My meaning of life

Today Someone asked me..."What is the meaning of life?" In order to answer that question, I had to look deep inside find out how I felt personally and put those feelings into words. I came up with an answer... "The meaning of life for me, is to experience as much as you can, pursue happiness as well as affecting and effecting the people you come into contact with."

A Love-Hate Relationship

I have only experienced one "Love-hate" relationship in my life and that is with the entertainment industry. Whether it is modeling or acting, for most of my years I grew to love being in front of people and escaping the trials, tribulations and stress of life. As I go deeper into the business I have found that I hate it too. I hate the business aspect of how much one has to put up with to move further but my love for the work is what drives me! A stereotype of the actor is that we all want to win the Academy Award. Shucks I used to think it was cliche to want to win one, but you know what?... I want that award. "New Year's Party"

Last month I had the chance to work with some really cool people on an NYU Tisch studio project. It was fun working on a set and dealing with a live taping almost like a sitcom or a soap. I definately would do something like this again. My character's name is Adam and he is a "playa". Here are some shots from the project!

I miss you..

I know it has been a while. I have been through a lot since my last post. Most of my days were spent in the hospital visiting my grandfather who was very sick. He passed on the 3rd of july and on that day I lost an important figure in my life. He was a driving force in my academic and professional career. When things went downhill he would be there to help me back up.

This man was my father when I didn't have one present in my everyday life. I loved him so much. He was my best friend and he was always proud of me. My 20th birthday just passed on the 21st of July and I find that it bothers me to know that he wasn't here to celebrate with my family. I miss you Grandpa and I will continue to keep "Keep my nose to the grindstone" and succeed in all that I do because you always told me to. Sean Boyce Johnson

Your Body = Your Instrument

I used to honestly think the celebrities and teachers were very pretentious when they would say, "Your body is your instrument". I was wrong... it is the honest truth. Your body must look and feel great!!

The Film is wrapped!

I was cast in a student film about film students who are trying to make a movie but everything goes wrong! I play the Director of Photography who always refers to himself in third person which is a little weird to the rest of the crew. I'm going to be honest.... I had a blast making the film and I am happy to have had the opportunity but I can only hope that I did the script and the film justice.... I do not want to be the dude on the film who people see and say, "Who's that guy? He sucks!" There were moments and certain takes that I feel I could have done more with. It is so weird, because I'm sure this is the case with people from the theater is that when you get a reaction from the audience on stage it lets you know how you are doing but with film no one is there to to say anything except the people on set. So a lot of the time the performance is not always being reacted to... Overall it was a great experience and I cannot wait to see it! Here are some shots on the set in between takes!!!

Sacrifices Must Be Made

I'm sitting here thinking of the many people in show business that speak about sacrifice and I am saying to myself I haven't really sacrificed anything serious at this point. If this is the case, how do I expect to get a good job in this industry without making at least one sacrifice. Yes I think I sacrificed four years for my college education but thats it. That particular sacrifice isn't as hard hitting as some of the others I have heard of. I must admit that I am scared of what the serious sacrifices will be and when I'll have to make them. I have no choice but to leave it in God's hands and pray that I'll be ready when the time comes to make those decisions.

Shoot For the Stars...

and nothing less.

I just had yet another enlightening conversation with my mother about my future plans in life. I explained the several things that I attempt to do after college concerning the careers I am pursuing. Of the many careers my mother asked me about my acting career and where I see myself in TEN YEARS. I answered the question by saying that I didn't want to be a famous actor and I would be happy doing any kind of work. My mother stopped me mid sentence and said "No, If you don't shoot for the stars you'll get scraps!" She had me thinking about how distorted my goals where and that I should be shooting for the blockbusters and the academy awards, etc. If I don't get there then so what? At least I can say I aimed for the bullseye and missed as opposed to saying that I just aimed for the side and happened to get the bullseye. So the lesson learned: Life is like darts... People play with the intention of hitting the bullseye! It sounds like common sense but so many variables have distorted my sense on that particular subject and I won't let it happen again.
